About

my experience of becoming an interaction designer, my Methodological Belief about design process and my critieria of distinguishing good design from bad ones.

1. Designer's Competence

What's the real value of a designer? Everybody is designer? What design education really teach a design student? What make designer a designer?

Empathy-know about people and be empathetic on their situation.

Creativity-think differently and make simplicity ingenious.

Aesthetics-have a taste to grasp the eternal beauty and apply it.

Rationality-see the essential reason for every design decision.

Tech-Savvy-understand how technology make innovation happen.

2. The Design Process

We all know design process starts from empathizing, then ideation, and then iteration. But simply following the process will not guarantee a great design idea and solution. So, what makes the transformative happen? I had a debate with myself regarding this topic.

3. Design Quality & Awesomeness

What makes a design good design? What separates great design from mediocre or bad ones? I ask myself these questions everyday. Good design is something you feel naturally existed, you may not be conscious of "the design", but you are totally comfortable with the reality that created by the design.
